This medicine is used to treat anemia. It contains Epoetin Alfa, an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent, which stimulate the bone marrow to make red blood cells.

The recommended starting dose for adult patients is 50 to 100 Units/kg 3 times weekly intravenously or subcutaneously.

Seek medical help immediately if you think you have overdosed on this medicaton.

If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

This medication can be injected directly into a layer of fat under your skin, or in the vein. When giving subcutaneous injections, follow your healthcare provider's instructions about changing the site for each injection.

Do not use this medication if you have:

• Uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Severe coronary disease (heart disease)
• Peripheral arterial disease (disease of blood vessels)

Common side effects include:

• Nausea/vomiting
• Yellowing eyes/skin
• Trouble sleeping
• Rapid breathing
• Unusual sweating
• Weakness on one side of the body
• Blood clots
• Fainting
• Severe dizziness
• Rash
• Trouble breathing
• Itching
• Swelling

Understand these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:
