  • Description

    This medicine is used to treat acidity and ulcers. It contains Vonoprazan, which is a Potassium Competitive Acid Blocker. It works by inhibiting the binding of Potassium ions to the proton pumps, thereby reducing gastric acid production and providing relief.

  • Uses

    This medication is used to treat:

    • Gastric ulcer
    • Duodenal ulcer
    • Reflux esophagitis
    • Preventing gastric or duodenal ulcer recurrence during low-dose aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) administration
  • Dosage

    Follow these dosage instructions or as prescribed by your doctor:

    • Gastric & Duedonal Ulcer

    20mg daily administered orally for 8 weeks in case of gastric ulcer and 6 weeks for duodenal ulcer.

    • Reflux esophagitis

    20mg daily administered orally for 4 weeks

    • Prevention of the Recurrence of Ulcer

    10mg daily administered orally.

  • In case of Overdose

    There is no experience of overdose with Vonoprazan. Vonoprazan is not removed from the circulation by hemodialysis. If an overdose occurs, treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

  • Missed Dose

    If you miss a dose, make sure to take it as soon as possible the same day. If you don't remember missing the dose, don't double it. Consult your doctor on how to adjust the missing doses.

  • How To Use

    Take the tablets daily, with or without food as your doctor has recommended. Take the medication regularly and simultaneously each day to get the most benefit from it.

  • When Not to Use

    Vonoprazan is contraindicated in:

    • Patients with hypersensitivity to Vonoprazan or to any excipient of the products.
    • Patients receiving atazanavir sulfate, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine hydrochloride.
  • Side Effects

    Common side effects may include:

    • Diarrhea
    • Constipation
    • Drug hypersensitivity (including anaphylactic shock)
    • Drug eruption
    • Urticaria
    • Hepatotoxicity
    • Jaundice
    • Skin rash
    • Nausea
    • Abdominal distension
    • Liver function test abnormal
  • Precautions & Warnings

    Follow these precautions and warnings before starting the medication:

    • Talk to your doctor if you have any allergic reaction or known hypersensitivity to any medicine components.
    • If you are pregnant or a lactating mother, talk to your doctor before using this medicine.
    • If you have severe liver or kidney impairment, talk to your doctor before starting this medication. Since the hepatic and renal functions are significantly decreased in elderly patients, Vonoprazan should be administered carefully.

    • Digoxin
    • Methyldigoxin
    • Itraconazole
    • Tyrosine kinase inhibitors
    • Gefitinib
    • Nilotinib
    • Erlotinib
  • Storage/Disposal

    Store the medicine at room temperature (not above 30 degrees) and keep out of direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and animals. Do not use the medication past its expiration date.
