It is used for Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, community acquired pneumonia (CAP) when other antibiotics cannot be used or have failed.
Side Effects
Abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, GI upset, QT prolongation in patients with hypokalaemia.
Precautions & Warnings
Risk of seizures: discontinue if occur. Seek specialist ophthalmological advice if any effects on eyes. Risk of tendon inflammation/rupture; advise patients (especially elderly to report limb pain or inflammation).
