Product Information
Dexibuprofen 100mg Syrup/Suspension, the active form of ibuprofen, primarily exerts its therapeutic effects through inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, particularly COX-1 and COX-2. By blocking these enzymes, dexibuprofen reduces the production of prostaglandins, which are key mediators of inflammation and pain. This inhibition results in decreased inflammation, reduced fever, and analgesic effects. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, which are involved in the perception of pain and the inflammatory response. This inhibition occurs through the suppression of arachidonic acid metabolism, leading to reduced production of inflammatory mediators. The selective inhibition of COX enzymes helps to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever without significantly affecting platelet function, making dexibuprofen an effective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for managing various conditions.
