  • Description

    It's belongs to the benzodiazepines drug class, it enhances the function of the neurotransmitter known as; GABA, it acts on brain nerves to produce a calming effect and in result treats anxiety and panic disorders.
  • Uses

    Used for the treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, anxiety associated with Depression, short-term anxiety, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.
  • Dosage

    Dose must be taken according to the doctor’s advice only; doses given below are suggested as supportive literature for better understanding in some areas of requirements. Adult dose: For anxiety: 0.25 to 0.5mg every 6-8 hours (do not exceed 4mg per day). For panic disorders: Immediate-release form; 0.5 every 6-8 hours, 1verage dose is: 5-6 mg orally a day, maximum dose is 10mg orally after every 8 hours a day. In extended release form 0.5-1mg orally a day; may increase ≤1 mg/day after 3-4 days, average dose is: 3-6mg orally a day. For anxiety associated with depression: 0.5-1mg orally a day; may increase ≤1 mg/day after 3-4 days, average dose is: 3-6mg orally a day. For premenstrual syndrome: 0.25 mg orally after every 6-12 hours; start treatment at day 16-18 of menses (not to exceed 3-4 mg/day); gradually decrease a daily dose over 2-3 days once menses occurs.
  • In case of Overdose

    Overdose of this drug can lead to drug abuse and dependency, so only use this medicine upon prescription and in the amount and frequency indicated by the registered medical practitioner.
  • Missed Dose

    In case you missed any dose, take the next dose as soon as you remember, but don't double your next dose to compensate for the missed one.
  • How To Use

    It can be taken with or without food, taking this medicine with food can help to avoid the chances of stomach upset.
  • When Not to Use

    This medication should not be used in patients who have respiratory depression, closed angle glaucoma, acute porphyria, depression signs of dependance or abuse and toxicity to any of its components.

  • Precautions & Warnings

    In some patients including the older ones, this medicine can lead to dizziness and lack of alertness, so avoid driving a vehicle after its use and also avoid the activities that could be dangerous in case of less alertness.
