How Simple Fracture Occurs

When you put an excessive force or pressure on your bone, it breaks; this is known as a simple fracture. When a bone breaks it can be divided into 2 pieces or maybe an incomplete separation of bone pieces and only a crack on a bone. You can contact the nearest orthopedic surgeon around you.

Symptoms of simple Bone Fracture

The location and severity of the broken bone determine the symptoms that include

  • Worsened pain of the injured area when you try to move
  • Unable to put weight on the injured area
  • Swelling and bruising
  • The inability to function in the injured area

Causes of Simple Fractures

A bone is fractured when you put strong pressure on a bone that is actually stronger than the bone. This often happens when you fall and you have weak bones. Children mostly fractured their bones because they don’t have strong bones as we have. They participate in many extracurricular and physical activities that’s why their bones break too instant. Our bones also get broken just like children but there is a difference between the reasons. It depends on the type of fracture

Types Of Fracture

There are many types of bone fractures and they are different from each other. We usually call them with basic terms and they can be related to the other following terms that we will discuss further.

Let’s discuss the basic and actual types of Bones fracture. There are 6 basic types of bone fractures like

Open fracture– When a bone breaks you can clearly see it through the skin and outside of the leg or arm. After bone breakage, there are some deep wounds that exposed the bones through the skin.  This type of bone fracture is also known as a compound fracture.

Closed Fracture-This is a type of fracture that does not break the skin and broken bone stays within the skin. This fracture is also known as a simple fracture that we have discussed above.

Partial Fracture- A fracture in which your bone doesn’t break into 2 pieces completely.

Complete fracture– This is a fracture in which pressure or force is stronger than the bone and your bone is broken into two pieces.

Stable Fracture– In this type of fracture when a force is exerted on a bone it broke but the bone has not moved out of place like there is a thin stable line between the bone parts.

Displaced Fracture–  There is a gap between the broken pieces of bones. Surgery may be required to repair a displaced bone.

Now let’s discuss the types of fractures in detail can be open, closed, stable, partial, or complete

Transverse Fracture

When a straight line occurs throughout the bone this type of fracture is also known as a transverse fracture. These types of fractures occur when you fall and have met road accidents. Your bone is directly hit by the object or surface.

Spiral Fracture

You can get the idea from its name. It’s a type of fracture that spirals around the bone. This fracture usually occurs in a long type of bone such as the femur, tibia, or fibula in the legs. It can also occur in the long bones of arms in which fracture spirals around your arm bone. Spiral fractures of bones occur in physical activities and sports such as while playing football and cricket matches. It also occurs when someone attacks you physically through a baseball stick and, rod and bat.

Greenstick Fracture

Greenstick is an incomplete type of fracture in which a bone bend and didn’t separate into two separate pieces. This type of fracture usually occurs in children because they have soft and flexible bones as compared to adults.

Stress Fracture

Another name for a stress fracture is a hairline fracture. This type of fracture occurs when you put a lot of stress on your bone. In this fracture, a crack appears on your bone and it is difficult to diagnose with normal X-Rays. Stress fractures occur when you continue to run or do repetitive motions.

Compression Fracture

In this type of fracture, your bone is crushed and become wide and flat as it wasn’t before the fracture. This fracture usually hit your spine and causes your vertebrate to collapse. The major reason behind compression fracture is osteoporosis. A condition in which your bones get weakened and fragile and are at risk of fracture.

Oblique Fracture

In this fracture, the crack is diagonal across the bone. An oblique fracture usually occurs in long bones such as the spine, leg, and arm bones. This fracture occurs with a sharp hit that comes from an angle due to trauma or fall.

Impacted Fracture

When two bones jammed together after the fracture, this type of fracture is known as an impacted fracture.

Segmental Fracture

Segmental fracture in which one bone break from two places and floats in segments. This type of fracture is most complicated and usually occurs in legs bones. Segmental fracture is more complicated and takes more time to heal.

 Comminuted Fracture

When a bone breaks into three pieces this type of fracture is known as a comminuted fracture. There are also bone segments present in this fracture. This time of fracture ours in response to high impacted automobile accidents.

Avulsion Fracture

When a fragment is pulled out of your bone by a tendon or ligament. Children are at more risk of getting this type of fracture than adults.  A child’s ligaments can blow hard enough to cause a growth plate to fracture.

Things You Should Consider

A simple bone fracture when you put force or pressure on your bone. When a bone break it can be cracked in different ways. Sometimes it breaks into two pieces, and even into three pieces. Some bones fracture open and your bones are exposed throughout your skin. Some fractures are closed in which your skin didn’t tear and you are unable to see a broken bone. A fracture has different types that we discussed in detail and depends on age, amount of pressure, and stress.

A physician can take all lab tests to confirm the diagnosis and recommend you stay in the hospital for a few days. A fractured bone must be put back in its place and doctors use pins, plates, screws, and rods to maintain the position of your bone. The pain of bone is unbearable for you that’s why they usually recommend and ask you to eat a highly nutritious diet including bone broth.
