What is a Qaumi Sehat Card?
Punjab Government has launched health cards known as the Sehat Insaf Card or Qaumi Sehat Card to provide free of cost healthcare services. Above all, this is hands down a very big revolution taking place to ensure the availability of affordable healthcare services across Punjab.
By using the sehat insaf card, deserving families will be provided with free medical treatment that will be up to 10 lac rupees per year.

Who is Eligible for Sehat Insaf Card?
As of now, any citizen who is making less than 300 rupees per day is eligible to access this card and opt for free medical care.
People including the transgender and disabled ones (registered with NADRA) are eligible for sheat insaf cards in all 36 districts across Punjab.
When was the Sehat Insaf Card Launched?
In a speech given by Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Governor House Lahore, it was officially announced that on 31st December 2021, the PTI government will be launching Sehat Insaf Card/ Qaumi Sehat Card (National Health Card) all over Punjab.
During the launch, the Prime Minister applauded the efforts of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Dr. Yasmeen Rashid. A total of 400 billion rupees has been assigned to serve this objective alone.
The Reason Behind the Sehat Sahulat Card Launch
In his speech, Prime Minister Imran Khan shared that his mother got really sick due to cancer. He was absolutely hopeless because there was no proper treatment for cancer.
Further, it was a first-hand experience that made him think about what it feels like to have nothing in his hands. He built Shaukat Khanum Hospital after the death of his mother which provides free treatment to cancer patients and started dreaming of launching free health insurance in Pakistan.
Now that he is ruling, with the same thought he is seeking to launch free healthcare services throughout Pakistan with the Health Card or Sehat Card.
How to Apply for a Sehat Insaf Card?
To apply for the Sehat Sahulat Card you need to follow six easy steps. These are,
Step 1: Eligibility Check
First of all, check your eligibility for sehat insaf card by sending a message/SMS to 8500. You need to write your NIC (National Identity Card) number in the message. A verification message will confirm your eligibility for the sehat insaf card.
However, you can also register for qaumi sehat card by downloading the Naya Pakistan Qaumi Sehat Card App.
Sehat Insaf Card Update 2022: KPK residents should send their CNIC number to 9780 to check their eligibility.
Step 2: Get Your Sehat Insaf Card
If you are eligible then go and grab your Qaumi Sehat Card from any of the Sehat Insaf card distribution centers in your area. The verification message contains information regarding your respective distribution center.
Step 3: Get Your Documents
It is essential for you to have all the required documents when you visit the Sehat Insaf card hospitals for treatment. These documents include:
- Original ID Card
- Sehat Card
- B-form (in the case of children).
Step 4: Sehat Card Verification
Once you go to any of the Sehat Insaf Card impaneled hospitals, now go to the Counter of the Sehat Sahulat Programme. After verification of the Sehat Card, you can move to the relevant hospital department.
Step 5: Get Yourself Treated
You will now get free treatment with the Sehat Insaf Card. However, be mindful that the cost of the treatment will be deducted only in the case where the patient is admitted to the hospital.

Packages of Treatment Offered on the Sehat Insaf Card
There have been a total of two packages covered and offered in accordance with the website of the Sehat Sahulat Program. These include:
1. Priority Treatment Package
In this package, an amount of 300,000 will be allocated to a single-family annually. However, an additional 300,000 can be allotted to sehat insaf holders if required. Priority treatment package also includes the treatment of some serious medical conditions alongside chronic diseases. These include,
- Accidents or Burns
- Neurological Procedures
- Dialysis
- Heart Conditions and Diseases
- Organ Failure
- Cancer i.e, skin cancer, breast cancer treatment including chemotherapy
- Chronic Issues i.e, Hepatitis A, Tuberculosis, and Chronic Liver Damage
2. Secondary Care Package
In this package, there is a total of Rs. 60, 000 allotted to every sehat insaf card holder family on an annual basis. However, if this amount is not enough Rs. 60,000 will be added further. Apart from this, other benefits of this package include,

- Maternity Procedures and Services i.e, Normal Delivery and C-Sections
Bonus Benefits
A transport service that covers up to Rs.1000 is given to every patient at the time of discharge. This is valid up to 3 times.
If the patient under treatment dies, Rs. 10,000 will be provided to the family to manage the funeral expenses.
