ڈینگی بخار ایک خاص قسم کے مچھر کے کاٹنے کی وجہ سے لاحق ہوتا ہے۔ یہ ایک متعدی مرض نہیں ہے اس لیے یہ ایک شخص سے دوسرے میں منتقل نہیں ہوتا۔ اگر یہ وائرس لاحق ہو جائے تو شدید بخار کا سامنا کرنا پڑتا ہے، جب کہ اس کی دوسری علامات میں قے، متلی، پٹھوں کا درد، اور جِلد کے مسائل شامل ہیں۔ ڈینگی بخار کی وجہ سے پلیٹ لیٹس تیزی سے کم ہونے لگتے ہیں جس سے مریض موت کا بھی شکار ہو سکتا ہے۔ اس لیے ڈینگی کا شکار مریضوں کو ایسی غذائیں استعمال کرنے کا مشورہ دیا جاتا ہے جن سے پلیٹ لیٹس کی مقدار کم نہ ہو۔
