Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore is one of the oldest Government Hospitals in Lahore. It was founded 20 years before the partition in 1921 by a civil engineer Sir Ganga Ram, who served in the British Government. After WWII in 1943, due to the growing demand and need for medical care, the hospital was shifted to its new present location. India, after the partition, in New Delhi, built the other branch of Ganga Ram Hospital.

Academically, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore is affiliated with Fatima Jinnah Medical College, a female medical college in Lahore and this new extension is named as Fatima Jinnah Hospital.
