Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab Chauhadary Pervaiz Ellahi chaired a meeting on Wednesday. In this meeting, he ordered the upgradation of Sakhi Sarwar Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) to improve the healthcare facilities in the area.

A part of the upgradation plan includes the establishment of Rescue 1122 Center in Fort Monroe. Other than this, a well-equipped trauma center will be established in the area. This expansion and upgradation will improve the provision of healthcare facilities for people living in Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding remote areas.

Fort Monroe is a popular tourist attraction in Punjab, Pakistan. This hill station is a part of the Koh-e-Sulaiman Mountain Range located near Dera Ghazi Khan District Punjab. Fort Monroe, despite being a major tourist attraction, lacks well-equipped and modern healthcare facilities. To improve the situation, this initiative was taken by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Pervaiz Ilahi who directed the expansion of Sakhi Sarwar DHQ Hospital, one of the recognized healthcare facilities in the area.

Apart from the addition of a trauma center and rescue 1122 unit in Fort Monroe, the government also applauded the efforts made by the armed forces in the field of education and health during the meeting. This meeting was also attended by the Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Dr. Akhtar Malik, secretary of primary and secondary health, Air Commodore Shehryar Khan, and others.
