The Health Ministry terminated the service agreement of 11 administrative officers of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital on Tuesday.

A notice was issued by the health ministry regarding the termination of the service agreement of administrative officers of PIMS Hospital. The termination order came into effect on January 12, said sources.
Adding to that, the officers were recruited under FMT Act 2021 on a contractual basis.
The administrative officers included MD Dr. Hashim Rana, Associate Professor Shireen Gul, Dr. Khalid Masood, Dr. Shafqat, Professor Wjahat Aziz, Director HR Abdur Rehman, Director Nursing PIMS Humera Khusnood, Legal Affairs Head Farrukh Bashir, Director Finance Hasnat Ahmed, and Dean PIMS School of Dentistry Waseem Ahmed, Director IT Sohail.
Moreover, the federal government has also given administrative control of PIMS Hospital to the Health Ministry under PIMS Act 2023.
In other news, a statement released on Sunday revealed that the PMA President Dr. Akhtar Ai Bandesha, and General Secretary Dr. Mubashir Mushtaq Daha visited PIMS. In their meeting with the new management, they offered their full support to them.
The members of the delegation ensured that all of the concerns and issues of the medical staff will be fixed on a priority basis. They also mentioned that the Pakistan Medical Association was fully aware of the major problems being felt by doctors and the medical staff.
