The data shared by NCOC on February 6, 2021, suggested that the positivity ratio for the past five days has stayed below the 10% mark.

Out of 56,051 tests being conducted in the past 24 hours, only 4,874 came out positive. The decline has pushed the ratio from 10% to 8.69% and the active cases have been reduced to 90,797 in a single day.

Meanwhile, another vaccination record has been formed, said the NCOC Chief Asad Umar. The highest daily vaccination record has been formed for the past three straight days.

“Target is to reach all citizens to allow us to finally end all COVID-19 related restrictions,” explained Umar.“Highest daily vaccination records set three days in a row,”- tweeted Umar.

The special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan Dr. Faisal Sultan urged the public to get vaccinated and get the booster shots if anyone hasn’t already.

There has been a brisk decline observed in the twin cities as well. The ratio recorded there is 7.3% and the total of new cases recorded is equal to 612.

A major setback here is that the virus has taken 6 lives in the last 24 hours which is the highest number of deaths observed since September 21, 2021, almost four and a half months.

“The weekly positivity is still much higher but it is declining swiftly. Both the number of cases and the positivity are on the decline which is encouraging. Our teams are on the roads and doorsteps to vaccinate or test you for COVID-19. It has been a great partnership with WHO Pakistan to vaccinate the marginalized communities in Islamabad. Remember, no one is safe until everyone is vaccinated”, said DHO Islamabad.
