Punjab Schools to Conduct Health Screening of 9th Class Students!

In a move to prioritize the health of school children, the provincial government has decided to carry on a school health screening project. It is aimed at revolutionizing the healthcare landscape in Pakistan.
Under this initiative, all students appearing for their ninth-grade examinations will undergo comprehensive disease screening, including tests for conditions like thalassemia. The caretaker health minister, Dr. Javed Akram, announced this transformative program during a recent meeting.

Dr. Akram expressed his conviction that the school health screening program would be a game changer, marking an unprecedented milestone in Pakistan's history.
This initiative, led by caretaker chief minister Mohsin Naqvi, aims to safeguard present and future generations from dangerous diseases.
The proposed legislation will undergo final approval by the Punjab cabinet, with the crucial involvement of the Punjab Health Care Commission. These measures are held for the success of this program.
The implementation of the project will be overseen by a steering committee, which will thoroughly review all technical aspects. The meeting, held under the esteemed chairmanship of Dr. Akram and Dr. Jamal Nasir at the Department of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education, focused on measures for the blood screening of ninth-grade students in educational institutions across Punjab.
The caretaker minister of the primary and secondary healthcare departments highlighted the indispensable role of the Punjab Health Care Commission. The commission will conduct audits of all laboratories involved in the health screening of children, ensuring adherence to rigorous standards.
